NewcomersPath is funded by user subscriptions and by small commissions from services newcomers use anyway — banks, translators, credential evaluators. There are no hidden channels, no data sales, no paid placements in the path selector.

Partner commissions
When we recommend a settlement service — banking, translation, credentials — we sometimes earn a small commission if you use it. This applies only to services adjacent to immigration, never to the immigration path itself.

What we refuse to take money for — always.
These aren't policies we might revisit. They're the reason the product exists. If we broke any of them, we'd have become what we set out to replace.
Not from RCICs, not from immigration law firms, not from paid representatives of any kind. The people who profit from your immigration case never pay us to send you to them.
No program, no province, no destination can be moved up in your recommendations because someone paid for it. The ranking is calibrated to your situation — full stop.
Your profile, your answers, and your documents are not marketing inventory. Partners see nothing about you unless you actively click through to them.
The path recommendation, the confidence score, and the whole adaptive interview are free forever. If you never subscribe and never click a partner card, we make nothing from you — and that's fine.
How the recommendation stays honest.
Good intentions aren't enough — we've built the separation into the product itself, so the temptation to blur the line never has a place to hide.
Path scoring is commission-blind
The system that ranks immigration programs for you has no access to partner or commission data. It sees your profile, live IRCC criteria, and nothing else.
Every partner card carries its own disclosure
If a card can earn us a commission, it says so on the card — not buried in a footer. You always know when money is involved before you click.
Dismissed partners stay dismissed
If a partner isn't for you, one click removes them from your view permanently. No dark patterns, no re-surfacing them next week hoping you'll change your mind.
Confidence numbers show what we don't know
When we're only 40% sure a path fits you, we say so. We'd rather show you a low number and be honest than a high number and be wrong.
Why this page exists at all.
I built NewcomersPath after watching families spend years and thousands of dollars on advice that turned out to be for someone else's benefit. That's the problem I wanted to fix — and publishing exactly how we make money is part of the fix. You should be able to see the incentives before you trust the recommendation.
